My first attempt at Video Editing

I returned from Flash on the Beach and London with several hundred megabytes of video and close to 500 photos. A bunch of the photos are on flickr (FOTB and London sets), but I wanted to do something with all the video too.

So I fired up iMovie and figured out how to use it. Here’s the result, not bad for a few hours work, first time with the software…

I have a bit of footage from FOTB itself, though a lot of it ended up rather dark. If I can assemble it into anything useful, I’ll post that too.

It looks pretty good but does iMovie provide the controls also?

Thanks for sharing and great job of integrating the audio with the visuals. Out of curiosity, what kind of video camera did you use?

Nice job, Keith! Looked like broadcast material to me. I’m still buzzing from that trip. That was an amazing experience I’ll never forget.. Can’t wait to go back next year….er, with ear plugs for Tink’s favorite underground club.. I think the name was “ear damage”… I took a lot from the conference back and am making a dent where I work. I finally convinced them to let me roll out some flex apps in ’07. I’m very happy about that.

Thanks everyone. No, iMovie just creates the .mov file. From there, I uploaded it to Brightcove (www.brightcove.com), where I happen to work, and put it in a player, which is where the controls, etc. come in.

Bill, all of that was shot on a digital camera. Actually a couple. Most was on a Canon S3IS (about as good as you can get without going DLSR), and the rest on a really cheap ($150) Samsung digital camera.
