While I’m hard at work wrapping up the AS 3 version of Foundation ActionScript Animation, Making Things Move!, I just got informed that the original, AS 2 version, is now entering its fourth printing!
At first I was a bit surprised that they would do a new printing, but it will be a few months before the AS 3 version hits the shelves, and it is still going to be useful for anyone who is doing AS 2 work. The new version is AS 3, period, and won’t really be that useful for AS 2 style coding.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who has bought the book said cool things about it (thus inflating my ego to dangerous proportions).
Congratulations again! And at the risk of adding to that ego inflation, it’s a great book and I can’t wait for the AS3 version. Thanks for all the hard work!
Keith, MTM is by far my favorite Flash book. It’s the first one I recommend to friends. I’m really excited about a totally AS3-centric version, of course; can’t wait to read it. But in the meantime, to someone who has never coded before, I imagine people would find the AS2 version helpful for getting going — just well worth updating to AS3 when they get it.
Been digging into the new AS3 cookbook, too, by the way, and enjoying it a lot. (Assume the animation chapter was yours?)
