OK, let’s totally geek out over FlashDevelop. It’s an awesome editor, and so customizable. I added a few items to my toolbar because it’s so simple to do so. Just edit an XML file. With the RunCommand plugin, you can do all kinds of cool stuff. Problem was, I added cool things, like a link to FlashDevelop’s site, links to the AS2 and AS3 live docs, and a button to run my Ant build file, but I wanted really cool icons to go with them. Turns out, that’s pretty easy, too. Here’s my current toolbar:
Turns out there is a file called Images.png in the FlashDevelop settings folder. It’s just a grid of icons. You can choose an image to use for your toolbar tool by its index in the grid. I made it 16 pixels taller and added a few icons to the bottom row.
