Old job: Looking for a replacement

As I just mentioned, I have just accepted a new position at Brightcove. That leaves a void at the company I am currently working at, Flash Composer and I have a personal commitment to see a good person take over the project I was working on.

Leaving Composer was not an easy decision. I have worked there for close to a year, and I can honestly say it was the best job I ever had. The project I have been working on is pretty incredible. The people are great. My boss is brilliant – a long time Flasher wrapping up his Masters in Software Engineering at Carnegie Melon. He’s brought some really great practices into ActionScript and our development process. The company is in Scotts Valley, CA, right next to Santa Cruz. I work from home – Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day, and go out there one week out of six on average.

The person we are looking for could possibly walk into a similar remote situation. Ideally, of course, they would like someone local, or at least willing to consider relocating or possibly being there more often than I was, but for the perfect person, I think it’s pretty flexible.

Requirements are a very strong AS 2 background, experience with software design patterns, building components, a very good familiarity with ARP and/or Cairngorm, experience in building complex RIAs in Flash, use of Flash Remoting. This is a Flash AS2 position, not Flex, but experience with Flex would probably be very useful for the job.

If interested, contact me at kp at bit-101.com and I’ll put you in touch if it seems like a good match.

Just to be clear, this is a full-time, permanent employee  position, even if remote. It is not a part-time or contract position. If you can’t relocate, some regular travel to Santa Cruz (company reimbursed) will be required.
