Intro to Computer Science

Yup, I started my course yesterday (as a student). Again, we are going to study Python. It is a new pilot program they are trying out – using Python as an intro language rather than Java.

So today we learned about the history of computer languages, variables and operators. This could be rough.

Well the cool thing is that instead of tests or exams, we’ll be graded on personal projects. We each have to create a program in Python for the midterm, and then improve upon that program for the final. It can be anything we want. That aspect should be fun. Python is great, but it’s been hard to find the time to dedicate to it. Now I have a couple of hours each Saturday where I can work on a project. Thats something I can look forward to.
