Head First HTML with CSS and XHTML

If you are a fan of the Head First books, you might be interested to see there’s a new title: Head First HTML with CSS and XHTML. I saw it in the store the other day, and I’m thinking I just might have to pick this one up.

Like many, I read Head First Design Patterns and loved it. I also have the Java one, and some day I might actually read it. I’ve used CSS a few times, but it never really seems to totally click with me. If it’s as good as their design pattern book, I should learn a thing or two. Besides, I have a $27 Amazon gift certificate burning a hole in my inbox. Yeah, I think I might spring for this one.

I was thinking of getting the java one is it the best book you have bought on design patterns? I do some AS2 but feel I need to learn more about patterns so that I am more effective would this be a good place to start also going to pick up your book as I am sure it contains some real use AS2 have to check the bank balance first. I am actually hoping for a head first for ruby since I decided to learn that – bad influences these forums!

On the topic of forums I noticed you closed the forum, shame but I guess not much was happening, I think it would have picked up but maybe it had its time, I like the idea of it free ranging but would be cool if an aforementioned place took on the database for reference, either that or you sent me a private link to it, the Members only idea to me seems good, users could be freer with ideas and opinions within limited access.

If I get to a book store for a look today I will check this book out my html is fairly crap having concentrated on flash and I have been struggling with css rails skinning recently.

Did you get to read the book yet?
