Someone just pointed out that I had an offscreen div with about a jillion spam links. Uploaded a new WordPress install. No luck. Changed the theme, that seemed to do it. Looks like I’m in the market for a new theme. Until then, enjoy the default.

trying out a new one. not sure i like it. but better than the default.
i took this one http://www.mono-lab.net/demo1/ and modded it.
also … you need to make the legos in the top corner blue! that’s totally in fashion right now. 😉
Wow crap that sucks man. But due, I really dislike this theme. I mean; lego?
I don’t like the theme at all, after 30 seconds of looking at it, but I don’t have time to mess with it now. A good evening project for when I get home, I guess.
I hope you don’t stick with this theme! For some reason I can’t read white text on black background. Things look weird when I look up again. Anyone else has this problem?
Anyway, good luck with your theme hunt.
happened to me too .. found out while checking my site in Lynx (text based browser). Then I poked around in my theme and found the links in one of the template files. Someone must have gained access through some exploit in out of date WP install, and inserted them.. so I deleted the links, upgraded wordpress, changed passwords, and have been OK since then. So you can probably restore your old theme as long as you get rid of the spam links.
bigfish, yeah, this has happened to me at least twice before. Everyone else, I’m going to play with a few themes before I settle on one.
This theme works great for me. Content over form.
Is that drop shadow? sexy!
What happened here?
Am I the only one who thinks this new theme is really ugly? So much grey! Definitely needs more contrast – either the background or the boxes need to be a lot brighter.
Sometimes a little change is good!
I highly recommend Thesis for the WordPress Theme, it cost some money but totally worth it…and no I am no affiliated with thesis in any way.
Hi Keith, I used to have this all the time, but now I’ve made my entire website an SVN working copy. That way I can see right away if any bots have screwed with it. HTH! Seb
Also can’t hurt to change your DB name & password, password protect your wp-admin directory, and make a new admin account with a name other than “admin” & delete the old “admin” account.
Not bad design leh…but the menu text font should not be “white”, maybe “orange” or some other…cheers. 🙂
