Don't piss off Phillip Kerman

So a while back Phillip Kerman asked me if I could do a quick video for the FiTC awards ceremony. Not thinking it through clearly enough, I agreed. So a week or so ago he got me a script and an example video of him reading the script. I realized at that point I wasn’t really up to acting in a Phillip-caliber production. He insisted, I gave it a couple of takes and verified that this wasn’t something I was going to pull off. He begged, I refused.

In the end, he got his revenge by airing this at the awards:

Actually, I think we are cool. He warned me he was going to roast me and I gave him my blessing, saying I deserved it. 🙂

In other FiTC vs. Me news, I hear that Jared Ficklin was showing this photo of Neil Diamond in his session:

neil-diamond

describing it as a “young Keith Peters”.

Hmm… I don’t know. THIS is a young Keith Peters:

Do you see any resemblance?

Anyway, it’s nice to know that even though I didn’t make it to Toronto, my friends are thinking of me.

Also at FITC, Dr. Woohoo plugged your book during his session, as he was using a modified version of one of your book examples in a Photoshop panel to generate artwork. Plus I think Ralph Hauwert included you in his presentation. I’m a bit fuzzy if it was him, but I do remember someone having a slide in their presentation which was just a big picture of your face. 🙂

  2. Tink says:

    Theres a defo resemblance.

Thing is, he looks a bit dapper, and you look a bit, well errrr rough 😉

  3. Paul Mayne says:

Looks like a very entertaining awards ceremony, Philip is hilarious.

  4. Mista Keith’ah Peters. Classic.

  5. in regards to pics … It’s probably harder to tell a shrimp from a prawn … 😉

  6. Mondain says:

Quality video as usual. As for the picture, I’d say same nose but otherwise no resemblance.

  7. Tink says:

Shrimps and prawns are very easy to tell apart as we all know.

The side plate of the second segment of the abdomen overlaps the segments in front and behind. Prawn have all the abdominal side plates overlapping tile-like from the front.

I mean come on…. female prawns don’t even brood eggs like shrimp instead they shed them into the current.

    Here’s, a great quote

‘Confusion arises when we hear Americans refer to prawns as “shrimp”.’

    😉

  8. Keith Peters says:

Shrimps and Prawns are the same thing, aren’t they? 😉

  9. ac says:

    ha ha… resembles.

Phillip did an amazing job hosting the awards. I couldn’t believe the wealth of content he put together. The audience was really appreciative of his efforts to entertain us all. We chatted with him in the middle of the event and then later that night. He truly was on top of his game.

So, in light of this friendly battle between Keith and Phillip, I wonder what we are in store from when both of you possibly share the stage at Flash on Tap! Maybe a wrestling match, Andy Kaufman-style!

  11. Wow thanks Chuck! And, yeah, no question I didn’t mean to and never expected this to affect the KP PK relationship.

I can give people the whole rundown in person–but, yeah, I tried to hit hard and kept a light hand on my normal self-restriction. That is, I didn’t hold back. But, mainly BECAUSE we’re friends.

It was funny.. at MAX there were some people who were surprised when they saw me… they were like “you’re here… don’t you hate Adobe?” This was very funny to me.

    @ Phillip Kerman
I never found the image the crazy guy was talking about in the CS4 logo.

  13. ac says:

Some one built Flash installer for Iphone.
What do you think, Keith? Do you think it is possible?

  14. Keith Peters says:

ac, sure, Adobe couldn’t get it through, but some dude built one in his basement and Apple is approving it. har har. 🙂

  15. This was actually the first time I got to meet Philip and have to say he made the awards show a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see what “goes down” in Boston at Flash on Tap this month!

    See everyone there.
