I mentioned this briefly a few days ago, but I’ll be speaking at 360iDev in San Jose in February.

My session title is “Making Things Move on the iPhone”, and here’s the description:
If you are new to iPhone development, you’ll find a ton of tutorials out there on how to make form based applications using UI widgets. But if you are making a game or simulation and you need to move some kind of custom shape across the screen, there’s not so much out there. Core Animation is great if you need to move an object from point A to B, but what if you need some more dynamic animation? That’s exactly what we’ll cover in this session, moving some simple object around the screen, building up various laws of physics as we go. It’s a perfect start to dynamic game development for the iPhone.
This will be my first conference speaking opportunity that isn’t directly Flash-related. I know a few people who will be there, but expect it’s largely going to be new faces. Really looking forward to it.
Eventually “iPhone: Making things Move!” book will come 🙂
You rock man!
Looking forward to having you! It’ll be lots of new faces for us too, should be great!
really stoked you’re going this way. i’d pre-order the book today 🙂 Bring it to Brighton FoTB09!!!
Just got my ticket for 360 iDev. I finally got over the hump learning the basics of Objective C using the Apress book you recommended. Coming from Flash, I kinda wish they used more dot syntax in there but it’s still tremendously helpful. Looking forward to catching your session in Silicon valley!
