No, seriously.
Magic.
Like, by a magician. Magic tricks.
Magician Jamy Ian Swiss will be hosting the Film Festival.
Jamy Ian Swiss, a New York native, has been awing audiences across the country since the ripe age of 29 earning recognition along the lines of “one of the most masterly sleight of hand techniques in the world†(New Yorker). It has also been said that Swiss possesses a “finely tuned sense of the absurd†(Washington Post) which is why we’re confident he’ll just fit in with our crowd so smashingly.
Swiss so brilliantly combines his love of magic and fantasy, his appreciation for humor and his passion for presentation, that we have no doubt he will leave the audience dumbfounded with disbelief and paralyzed with hysteria.
My first Flash Forward Film Festival was in 2003. It opened with one of those human beat box guys. That was … interesting.
This year, I’m preparing to be dumbfounded and paralyzed. 🙂
I’ve always wondered, how exactly do you prepare to be amazed (let alone dumbfounded & paralyzed) ? Surely, if you were prepared, then you wouldn’t be 🙂
You have ALWAYS wondered that??? You need to get out more. 🙂
I can’t wait to go to Flash Forward, this will be my first year going. Hope to get to meet you and a few other of the greats.
I read an article about that guy a few months ago. You just may be dumbfounded and paralyzed.
Ah ‘Magicians’… the moose-picture reminds me of ‘Presto’. The newest short of Pixar/Disney. 🙂 http://www.vkmag.com/videos/videos_pixars_presto/
David Copperfield once moved the entire Stature of Liberty … then he moved it back. It was *real* “magic”, I tell you. 😉
Recent Boston Globe article points to the appropriateness of studying legerdemain for interface design:

If Mark Randall’s there (of Adobe’s video group), then he has a connection too:
