Trying the All-in-One SEO Pack

I’ve never paid much attention to SEO. Always figured that if you have good content, your site should eventually become well enough known in your sphere of influence that you don’t really have to worry too much about it. I still pretty much agree with this sentiment. I’m not really worried about being the number one search result for “Flash” or “ActionScript”. I think a lot of people / companies spend WAY too much time on SEO tricks when their content isn’t worth it for me to spend more than 2 seconds on the site. But I guess if they get more hits, that puts them up in some ranking, and that gets them more money for advertising. In the end it’s all about quantity and dollars over any type of quality. Furthermore, the quest for the holy grail of Search Engine Rankings is what has given us a whole new era of spam – blog spam. So the whole subject generally leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

But having said all that, I ran across the All-in-One SEO Pack WordPress plugin today. What the heck – it’s easy to install, easy to use. Set it and forget it and see if it does anything for me. OK, it’s not totally set it and forget it. It adds a whole new section to your post editing page so you can optimize each post as you write it. Anyway, it’s in there, and I’m writing this partially as a mile marker to see if my stats improve at all after this point.
